Rechberg 1837 in the Realm of Art: Lemusa at Musée Visionnaire
FOOD ZÜRICH – An Evening of Imagination, Flavor, and Art. Rechberg 1837 invites you to a unique culinary experience set on the fictional island of Lemusa – a vivid, multi-layered world created by writer and artist Samuel Herzog. Lemusa is not only the backdrop for literary tales, but also home to a rich collection of recipes that serve as the foundation for an extraordinary menu.
As part of the current Landsichtsach exhibition at Musée Visionnaire, this exceptional evening brings together art and cuisine in an immersive setting. The Rechberg team will serve a multi-course menu right in the middle of the exhibition, guiding guests on a sensory journey between imagination and taste.
Samuel Herzog, born in 1966, moves fluidly between art, literature, and journalism. A creative boundary-crosser, he has published numerous texts, run an art space with an integrated kitchen in Basel, worked as an art critic, and spent years traveling across Europe—often accompanied by stories from Lemusa, which he presents in exhibitions, books, and online.
Musée Visionnaire sees itself as a platform for visionary art—instinctive, free, and beyond traditional categories. It fosters dialogue between established and lesser-known artistic voices and is committed to a diverse and accessible understanding of art.
This collaboration creates an evening that not only delights the palate but also inspires—making art a tangible, lived experience.

The Rank association
The cultural program is orchestrated by the Rank Association. The non-profit association is both organizationally and financially independent of the gastronomy, with the specific aim of promoting the local music scene.
The association is financed through concert admissions, a cultural percentage of the gastronomic offerings, membership fees, as well as private and public subsidies.
A fair fee is paid to the performing artists.
For Artists
The bands are actively selected and invited by a committee. Applications are not considered.
