Mokja Korean BBQ (Change in the programme: Pop-Up & Kimchi Workshop cancelled)
For organisational reasons, we unfortunately have to cancel the Mokja Pop-Up on Friday and Saturday as well as the Kimchi Workshop on Sunday. However, the BBQ evening on Thursday will take place as planned - and there are still a few seats available!
Look forward to authentic Korean BBQ with Ae Jin Huys on the secret backyard terrace behind Kultur Lokal Rank - lively, smoky, unique. If the weather is bad, we'll serve you a warming hotpot menu inside.
Culinary - Korean BBQ on the secret backyard terrace behind Kultur Lokal Rank. For one summer evening, the hidden terrace behind Kultur Lokal Rank transforms into a temporary slice of Seoul: smoky, vibrant, secret – serving up authentic Korean BBQ just like in the back alleys of Seoul. From Seoul via Antwerp, Mokja arrives in Zurich with what they do best: Korean soul food with attitude. Fermented, shared, grilled – food that brings people together and actually tastes like something.
The Korean BBQ is presented by Ae Jin Huys – chef, author, cultural ambassador, and queen of fermentation. Born in Korea and raised in Belgium, it wasn’t until a chance meal in her twenties that she found her way back to the flavors of her childhood. With sensitivity, intuition, and a touch of rebellion, she breathes new life into traditional Korean cuisine. Her creations tell stories – of identity, memory, and taste. We’re thrilled to have her curating this special Mokja evening with us.
-
Here’s how it works:
- Welcome & Korean snacks indoors at Rank
- Korean BBQ outdoors – each group gets their own tabletop grill
- Open bar indoors to round off the evening
-
What if it rains?
No worries – if the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll move everything indoors. We won’t be able to grill, but instead we’ll serve a warming Korean hotpot experience that’s just as soulful and satisfying.

Club Summer presents: RKDIA
Club Summer - On 11 August, Kultur Lokal Rank invites you up close with the explosive Scandinavian duo RKDIA for a night of high-energy, genre-bending live music. Danish pianist Morten Schantz and Swedish-Norwegian drummer Anton Eger are both heavyweights on the international jazz and fusion scenes. As RKDIA, they come together in a vivid, high-voltage soundscape where wild drum grooves and lush synths collide in hypnotic, danceable tracks.
From sold-out shows across Europe and Asia to a royal invitation to perform at Bhutan’s National Day, RKDIA has made their mark — including a synth-driven tribute to Roger Federer (true story). Now, it’s your turn to experience it all up close in the intimate settings of Kultur Lokal Rank. For a band of two, they make a hell of a roar!

Club Summer präsentiert: Alessio Cazzetta
Club Summer - Gnothi Sauton, or Per aspera ad astra, maximes that reverberate through Alessio Cazzetta's music: A diamond in the rough, the young guitarists vocabulary is reminiscent of musical luminaries that have persisted in - musically speaking - aiming for the moon. Undoubtedly, the age-old quest for transcendence is evident in his way of creating an "inviting, expansive atmosphere" which the cosmopolitan of Italian and South-African descent, has been captivating audiences across the globe with. Unifying the cardinal directions under the umbrella of Jazz, subtly blending influences to be found somewhere in-between Coltrane, Hendrix, Indian Classical and neo-romantic music.

Club Summer presents: Lea Lustenberger
Club Summer presents: Lea Lustenberger
Club Summer - Lea Lustenberger is a Zürich-based singer-songwriter. She started releasing her self-produced music in 2022 and has since established a diverse repertoire of her own songs singing in Swiss German, German and English. She played over 40 concerts on various stages: Stars in Towns Talentstage, Campfire Stage at Gurtenfestival and at the Winterthurer Musikfestwochen to name a few.
When playing live she accompanies herself with an electric guitar to bring out soft, crisp melodies or a more edgy sound that almost sound a little punky. There‘s always an edge to her songwriting as it is straight forward yet still has a soft side to it. Her latest release „Zu dir“ (released 11.7.2025) was produced by Bern-based Dr. Mo who‘s well-known for producing music for acts such as Lo&Leduc.

Club Summer präsentiert: Limmat Quartet
Club Summer präsentiert: Limmat Quartet
Club Summer - The coolest string quartet in Zürich plays video game music live! The Limmat Quartet presents the best music from Final Fantasy, The Last of Us, Age of Empires, Pokemon, Zelda, and more. Get a kick of nostalgia and hear video game soundtracks in a new way!
The Limmat Quartet was formed in 2021 in the city of Zürich, based on the weird and wonderful idea that absolutely anything can be played by string quartet. Whether playing Vivaldi or Taylor Swift, accompanying a slam poet, or improvising with live electronics, the quartet experiments with joyful abandon. The four professional and classically-trained musicians also have a love for anime, video games, and film, which often inspires their choice of program.

Club Summer presents: Fräulein Luise
Club Summer presents: Fräulein Luise
Indie - Fräulein Luise craft songs that go straight to the heart—sometimes joyful, sometimes melancholic, always full of groove and emotion. This young band from Zurich blends societal themes and personal stories into a vibrant sound that spans indie, pop, rock, and everything in between. Their lyrics, often in Swiss German or High German, are direct and sincere, carried by lush vocal harmonies and melodic, driving basslines.
Since their surprise win at Band-it ZH in 2021, the quartet has carved out a unique place in the Swiss music scene. Festival stages like Gurtenfestival and OpenAir St. Gallen, support shows for acts like Wanda, Steiner & Madlaina, and Von Wegen Lisbeth, and their debut EP Kleine Freiheit have all marked important milestones. Currently working on their debut album set for release in 2026, Fräulein Luise are four close friends with one shared dream—and this journey is just beginning.
